The Westfire 21 is a convecting stove. This means that the internal combustion chamber is separate from the outside of the stove. The internal chamber heats up and transfers the heat to the air surrounding it. This air comes in through slots at the bottom of the stove and comes out through slots at the top of the stove. This means that the outer surface of the Westfire 21 is not as hot as it would be if there was no separation between the inner champer and outer surface of the stove.
