Heating a swimming pool can be very expensive but fitting a wood burning Klover pool heater, and heating your swimming pool using logs, is a simple, cheap and green way of giving you a tropical feel to your swimming pool. It works equally well to heat a hot tub or jacuzzi.
The Klover woodburning pool heater can be placed in a small building next to an inside or outside pool. It will require a length of double skin flue to act as the chimney and can be connected straight to the pool. The log burning pool heater does not require the use of a special swimming pool heat exchanger as it has its own internal stainless steel coil. So it is simply a matter of pumping the pool water through the heat transfer coil and back to the pool again.
It is common to site the wood burning pool boiler at one end of the changing room. While it gives almost all of its heat to the swimming pool, there is always a bit of warmth left to give you a cosy changing room and a warm towel waiting for you at the end of your swim. The Klover pool heater will burn any type of wood and of course the drier your wood the hotter it burns. It operates at an astonishing 83% efficiency, converting nearly all the potential heat from your fuel into hot water. Once it is heated up it burns so cleanly that you won't even see any smoke coming out from the chimney.
Wood is a renewable, carbon neutral fuel that does not add to global warming when it is sourced from managed woodland. Waste wood that would otherwise be headed for the tip, or you would have to pay to have taken away, can also be used to fire the pool heater and the ash will do your garden a power of good. Heating a pool with wood works out a fraction of the cost of using electricity or oil.
The Klover log boiler has its own built in thermostat and a separate heat exchanger tank on top with a mains water feed to it. So once it is loaded and lit it will run itself and continue to pour heat into your pool as long as it has wood to burn. Should there be a power cut, and the pool pump turns off while the stove is running, it will simply shut itself down and any excess heat will be safely dissipated through the top heat exchanger tank.
The wood fired pool heater does not require a separate header tank or a heat sink radiator or any other plumbing apart from a mains feed to the heat exchanger tank and connecting to a flow and return from the pool.
It has a large firebox and can take long lengths of wood and a fill will keep it running for hours on end. Wood burns most efficiently when it is burnt fast and that is exactly what the Klover wood fired pool heater will do. Until your pool comes up to the temperature you want, the series of heat exchangers in the firebox will continue to capture the heat from the fire.
You can also fit a hot tub next to the pool and let the wood fired pool stove bring your jacuzzi up to temperature before a valve will automatically switch it back to heating the pool.
Extend your swimming season to all year long with a Klover wood burning pool heater.
