Romotop Stromboli stove

Romotop stromboli stove uk The Romotop Stromboli is a beautifully designed contemporary stove with a big curved glass door and the ability to be rotated in any direction, even whilst burning. This means that wherever in the room you choose to site the stove you can always be sure of having a great view of the flames. With a glass area over 400mm wide and nearly 500mm high, it has one of the largest windows on the market and it combines that with an effective airwash system to make sure that that glass always stays clean.

Even though it is designed as a woodburner, the Stromboli has a grate system that lets the fire get primary air for fast and easy lighting, and quick removal of the ash, but that can also be set in the closed position for highly efficient secondary air woodburning. Put two or three good logs on, set the air control down and it will run all evening burning with bright crisp flames.

The primary air control of the Stromboli is found to the right hand side of the ashpan when the door of the stove is opened. A slider control above the door regulates the secondary, cleanburn, air supply. The Stromboli has an impressive nominal heat output of 8kW making it suited to a medium sized room.

The door of this stove is sprung so that if left open by mistake it will close by itself. The door mechanism catches at three points when you close the door - this firmly holds the tall door of the stove shut and pulls it tightly and evenly to the body of the stove ensuring a good seal and thus total control of the burn rate.

The Stromboli is available with stone cladding that not only looks good but also serves a function: the stone absorbs the heat from the fire and then slowly radiates it to the room, staying warm long after the fire has gone out.

The price shown below is for the Stromboli stove with steel sides and top - which is the version to the left in the picture above.

Romotop Mangala stove

Romotop mangala stove uk The Romotop Mangala is a very contemporary, clean lined stove with an impressive 8kW output. It is a convecting stove, which means that it draws cold air from the floor, heats it as it passes around the stove firebox, and then spreads that warm air around the room. This ensures that there is a good, even heat across the room and that it doesn't get too hot close to the stove itself.

The very large curved glass window gives a great view of the flames and the window is kept clear by an effective airwash. The door has a positive triple point closing system (as opposed to the single point closing found on most stoves) operated by the single handle on the side of the door. There is even a small log store underneath the stove behind the bottom door.

The Mangala operates at an impressive 79% efficiency, utilising a sophisticated cleanburning system that introduces preheated air into the top of the firebox to allow a more complete combustion of gases that would otherwise go up the chimney. It has an air intake spigot on the back of the stove to facilitate a direct air feed for the combustion if it is wanted. This means fewer draughts because the air that the stove needs is coming directly from outside the house.

I have been impressed by the way that the Romotops are built, by how controllable they are and also by how well they burn, with a good clean flame pattern even when they are turned right down.

Romotop Meru stove

Romotop meru stove uk The Romotop Meru is an oval shaped, high efficiency, contemporary stove. The Meru has a log store under the firebox and a well proportioned airwashed window. As with the other Romotop stoves that we offer the Meru has a grate which allows the burning of wood and brown coal (union briquettes) if you so wish (however coal is a fossil fuel so we recommend sticking to wood).

The nominal output of this stove is listed as 8kW which makes the Meru suited to the medium sized room. The Meru is finished off by a stone top but is also available with a ceramic top in a variety of colours.

There are around 100 million tonnes of firewood from English forests that remains unharvested every year. The forestry commission aims to harvest 50 million tonnes per year by the year 2020 - this could significantly reduce CO2 emissions
