We feature two sizes of stove room ventilator, both of which have an internal baffle mechanism to reduce wind noise and draughts by stopping wind blowing directly into the room. The baffle in the large stove room ventilator can be removed if you so wish which also allows more air through it, meaning that it can cater for stoves with a higher output. The baffle cannot be removed in the smaller ventilator.
The ventilation requirements for stoves now depends on the air tightness of your house. For more information on this please visit our stove ventilation page which is part of our building regulations pages. In simple terms this all means that:
For a house built before 2008 (with no major airtightness improvements carried out)
For a house built after 2008
We name for our stove room ventilators so that we show the highest kW rating first (for older houses) and then the lower (for newer houses). For the larger stove room ventilator we also show the kW rating with the baffle removed in brackets.
Externally the stove room ventilator has a brown louvred grille with a white grille internally. You would generally fit the ventilator close to the stove, but not so close that it will get too hot. The stove room ventilators are installed using a standard 125mm (5") core drill. The stove room ventilators are long enough to cope with most standard wall constructions, and there is an optional 1m extension tube available if you walls are really thick. The picture of the stove room ventilator is of the smaller, 10.5kW/5.5kW model.
It is also worth considering stoves that can be connected to a direct air supply, especially for newer houses.
