Wamsler cooker stoves

Wamsler make innovative and practical cooker stoves designed to run effectively on wood. Traditionally in England range cooker stoves have been designed to run on coal. English range cookers were/are made of cast iron, very very heavy and expensive. In contrast cooker stoves on the continent (like Wamsler cooker stoves) have bigger fireboxes, solid cast iron innards, but with a lighter steel casing. Wamsler range cookers have already stood the test of time and this lighter construction is a benefit as it makes them easier to transport. Here we have range cooker stoves that run efficiently on wood, can easily heat water for central heating, and all available for a lower price than many English range cooker stoves.

Unlike Agas or Rayburns the flue gases in Wamsler cooker stoves go right around the oven. This makes for very consistent oven temperatures with few hotspots - ideal for baking. Wamsler cooker stove ovens are enamelled inside making them much easier to clean and the oven has a temperature gauge and glass viewing window for ease of operation. Under the oven is a handy warming draw.

The Wamsler 900 is a lovely looking central heating cooker stove. Ingeniously the firebox in the 900 cooker stove can be raised up closer to the hob – this allows you to run the stove in warmer months with the heat going to the hob and oven and very little heat going to the central heating.
The backboiler on this stove will produce around 54,500 BTU, enough to provide domestic hot water and also run many radiators. Nearly the entire top of this cooker stove is hob which gives a very large cooking area. The Wamsler 900 stoves have a clever baffle system which allows you to decide whether to heat the oven or not – if you do not heat the oven then the hotplate and backboiler receive more heat – this is very useful for fast cooking or getting the water up to temperature more quickly. The Wamsler 1100 is a central heating cooker stove designed to be able to meet all your cooking and heating needs. The backboiler gives up to 61,400 BTU, enough for hot water and radiators for most houses, whilst the stove has a total heat output of up to 27kW (a lot of this heat usually goes to the hot water). The Wamsler 1100 has a firebox that can be raised up so as to give more heat to the hob and oven, and less heat to the water in summer months. You can fuel the firebox from the top – there is an access in the huge top hotplate of this cooker stove. The oven has a viewing window and there is a warming shelf underneath.
