Inset stoves (also known as inserts or cassette stoves) sit almost flush with your wall. An inset stove is about as close as possible as you will get to hanging a fire on your wall as a picture. An inset stove gives you a lot of freedom in many ways in that the end result is very much dependent on how you install it; an inset stove may be installed with a fireplace surround for that traditional UK look, or in a plain white wall for that more contemporary window of fire.
