Mendip Loxton 5 SE Mk4 stove
The Mendip Luxton 5 has now been updated to a Mark 4 model. This model has a bigger window for viewing the flames while the direct air is now rear only and the 80mm diameter spigot is on the stove as standard.
The Loxton 5 is a multifuel stove able to burn wood or coal. When burning wood the Loxton 5 runs at 80% efficiency. The Loxton 5 stove has vermiculite firebricks lining the fire chamber. Wood burns best when there is a good supply of air to the fire and once it has got really hot. The Loxton's vermiculite bricks reflect heat back into the chamber raising the temperature which makes the wood burn better. The Loxton also has primary, secondary (airwash) and tertiary air supplies to the fire meaning that the hot wood has the air it needs to properly combust.
At 5kW the Loxton 5 stove is suited to the smaller living room and with its simple style the Loxon 5 should be at home both in the traditional, or modern setting.
Because all of the Mendip Loxton stoves share the same height and width you can also view the Loxton 5 as the slimline Loxton stove; it can fit into a narrow fireplace recess and gives a large view of the fire without taking up too much floorspace.
