Load units and load valves (also known as heat chargers) are a clever way of getting more from your boiler stove. The concept is very simple - until the water in the boiler is hot the heat charger directs the water straight back to the stove. This small volume of water heats very quickly. Once the water has reached 60º the heat charger starts to open, allowing some water to flow to and from the main heating system, whilst still maintaining a temperature of at least 60º in the boiler.
This means that the stove comes up to temperature very quickly and then stays there. This greatly improves the efficiency of burning, reduces condensation in the firebox (making the boiler last longer), and ensures that the water that does get to your hot water tank or radiators is always nice and hot.
Perhaps the best known type of heat charger is the Laddomat which we offer below. For a fuller discussion on this topic please see our heat charger page
| ESBE LTC load unitsThe ESBE LTC series load units are the neatest and most compact heat chargers I have come across so far. The LTC series load units we offer here maintain high return temperatures to the boiler and are suited to use with boiler stoves and log gasification boilers. The valves, pump, thermostatic gauges and thermosyphon bypass are all neatly contained, and the load unit comes with a removable insulating cover. | ESBE load valvesEsbe VTC load valves are 3-way thermostatic valves which can be used in conjunction with a pump and flue thermostat to maintain high return temperatures to the boiler. For boiler stoves we advise the use of a VTC511 valve, and for log gasifiyers the larger VTC512 as this valve allows for higher flow rates. | Laddomat 21The Laddomat 21 is a heat charger suited to boilers of up to 80kW output. Visit our Laddomat 21 page, or click on the picture for more details |
