Smoke Control Areas

Many cities have Smoke Control Areas in force. This means that you must either burn smokeless fuels on a multifuel stove (or fireplace), or burn wood on an approved cleanburn wood burning stove.
Smokeless fuels approved for burning in multifuel stoves in smoke control areas.
Exempt cleanburning stoves - the Dovre 500 CBW, Dovre 700 CBW, Morso Owl stove and the Hwam Mozart, Ravel and Beethoven are approved for woodburning in smoke control areas.
Some Clearview stoves can also do it: the Clearview Vision 500, the Clearview Vision 650 and the Clearview Vision 750, but you have to have the Smoke Control System factory fitted and it costs an extra £200-225 and stops you closing the stove right down.
