I want a Smart Grid, or Hybrid heat pump system

A Hybrid system combines multiple heat sources into a cohesive whole. This can add great flexibility and resilience, however it also requires extra space and parts so is generally well suited to a larger project. We generally design the system so that the heat pump(s) are able to heat the whole building, with the ability for other heat sources to either take over from the heat pump(s), or to augment. 

A Smart Grid system allows you to make the most of time of use tariffs by adding in the ability to store up extra heat when electricity is cheap. In order to store significant amounts of heat a relatively large thermal store is needed - so the project needs space for this, and for other items, typically this means having a plant room.
