We supply top guality logs for use as firewood to the local area. Our family business came about through a desire to restore our woodland here at Home Farm. In 2008 we started a project to rejuvenate our ash plantation on the farm. We began clearing trees which had fallen down and were damaging the remainder in an attempt to restore the health of the wood and promote the growth of new ash saplings. We have always used wood gathered on the farm to heat the farm house through the winter but found that as a by-product of our rejuvenation project we had an excess of quality ash. Ash together with oak is the best wood to burn and we therefore decided to expand our initial project to become a green business, selling the logs and kindling collected from our wood. The project has now expanded to incorporate woodlands across a close network of neighbouring farms through Berkshire and Oxfordshire. We operate on a small scale, delivering and collecting logs within an area which we would normally travel to see friends and family.
