Defra Exempt Stoves
DEFRA Exempt stoves are certified to reduce air pollution, making them suitable for Smoke Control Areas. They pass lab tests measuring emissions at both full and reduced output, typically using firewood. Since 2022, Ecodesign legislation has introduced stricter emissions limits than DEFRA Exemption, though it doesn’t include reduced output testing. The smallest of the Invicta Sedan models but with all the attributes that cast iron brings, the S has a 5kW heat output for smaller rooms or where it is a secondary heat source. Being cast iron it gives a more even heat distribution and allows the stored energy to continue to heat the space after the fire has gone out.
