A Defra Exempt stove has passed a lab test where its emissions are measured at its rated output and at a reduced rate. This is to help reduce air pollution in towns and cities that are Smoke Control Areas. A Defra Exempt stove can generally be used to burn wood in a Smoke Control Area - it actually depends what fuel the lab test was carried out with but this is nearly always firewood.
It is worth noting that the Ecodesign legislation which is due to come into force in 2022 sets what are arguably even stricter emissions limits than those set for Defra Exemption, but the framework doesn't include the low output test. We may well see the introduction of an additional low output test for stoves that can be used in Smoke Control Areas after 2022.

The small Aduro 16 is the baby of the range but still gives a heat output of 5kw.
Here we have the Future Fires Panoramic FX1 which is an oval stove with very wide window. At 8 kW this stove is suited to the medium sized room and the shape and very wide window will make an impression on any room.
The Future Fires Panoramic FX2 is a smaller version of the FX1, featuring an output of 5kW.
The Firebelly FB2 is perhaps the best known Firebelly stove and is really the stove which I would say made their name. The FB2 is a nicely proportioned contemporary stove with a heat output of 12kW, making it suited to the medium sized room or as secondary heating in a larger room.
The Duo 2 is probably the most unusual model - this has a side loading log store so that the logs are not visible from the front of the model.
